* Exelon is planning to extend its hostile bid for NRG Energy past the Jan. 6 deadline due to pending regulatory approvals (Reuters, 12/23).


* FPL Energy subsidiary Heartland Wind has signed a $322.5 million limited-recourse senior secured variable rate term loan with a tenor of eight years (TradingMarkets.com, 12/23).


* Covanta Holding has acquired two biomass facilities with a combined capacity of 49 MW from co-owners Ridgewood Maine and Indeck Energy Services for $52 million (TradingMarkets.com, 12/23).

 

* The Maryland Public Service Commission has asked Constellation Energy for documents relating to
